Social Scholarship: Preferential Categories and Required Documents
For students enrolled in full-time programs and state-funded spots.
Note. This list of categories and documents is provided for convenience. The final decision is made by the scholarship committee in accordance with current legislation.
Documents required for everyone
- Student application for a social scholarship.
- Passport or ID card (copy).
- Tax ID (copy)
- Student ID card (copy).
- Extract from the territorial community register (formerly: Certificate of residence registration).
- Certificate/confirmation of full-time state-funded enrollment. state-funded spots (if required).
How to apply
- Prepare the originals and copies of the documents (or scans for electronic submission).
- Submit the application and the document package to the directorate.
- Wait for a notification regarding the review result and the scholarship.
Additional documents, depending on the grounds for receiving a social grant
1Orphans and children deprived of parental careСategory
- Свідоцтво про смерть батьків / рішення суду або органів опіки та піклування про надання статусу дитини-сироти, позбавленої батьківського піклування / витяг з обліково-статистичної картки / рішення суду про позбавлення батьківських прав, визнанням безвісти відсутнім тощо (копії).
- Extract from the State Register (details of the father) pursuant to Article 135 of the Family Code of Ukraine
2Persons with disabilities of groups I–III and children with disabilitiesСategory
- Medical report on establishing the status of a child with a disability under the age of 18 or a certificate of medical and social expertise (MSEC certificate).
- As needed — medical documents regarding the disability group and duration.
3Persons affected by the Chornobyl disaster Сategory
- Victim's certificate.
4Students from low-income familiesСategory
- Certificate from the social protection authority regarding the assignment of family assistance in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On State Social Assistance to Low-Income Families".
5Veterans and their childrenСategory
- A certificate from the Department for Veterans Affairs (for the father/mother) or a statement from the social welfare authority confirming registration in the Unified State Automated Register of Persons Entitled to Benefits.
6The children of Ukraine’s fallen defendersСategory
- Death certificate of the father (mother).
- Document confirming the death (disappearance) of one of the parents, issued by a military unit, a special law enforcement agency, or a court decision on recognition as missing (declared dead).
- Certificate of medical and social expertise.
7Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)Сategory
- IDP certificate, issued by an authorized body.
8Other categories provided by legislationСategory
- Certificate/document confirming special status (in accordance with the relevant law).
Where to apply
- Directorate (dean's office) of your faculty/institute.
- Accounting department regarding accruals and banking details.
Common mistakes
- Submitting only copies without presenting the originals (when it is mandatory).
- Expired certificates or documents without signatures/seals.
- Inconsistency of full names in documents (different transliterations).
- Absence of a student application – it is a mandatory document.
